👋 Hi there, and welcome to my blog! My name is Matt Moncur, and I'm a Software Developer based in Toronto. I currently work as an iOS developer at Sensibill, a Fintech startup that does digital receipts management for small businesses and freelancers. Before that I worked at CIBC as a developer for their Online Banking team and MaRS Innovation Lab.

Over the years I’ve had the privilege of working with some pretty amazing people, that have taken the time to mentor me and have “poured into my cup”. Now I want to give back, share what I know, and hopefully leave people with some gems along the way. I believe that software is to be treated as a craft, that it isn't about writing code that works, but well-crafted software that solves real problems and brings value to people's lives.

When not at work, I love to spend quality time with my beautiful wife, Jess. We have a dog and a cat that tend to keep us pretty busy.

- Milo the Tabby

Jess is easily the most exciting thing about me, and it’s safe to say that my life would be pretty mundane without her. She has been my best friend for the last 10+ years, and her adventurous spirit has rubbed off on me. We’ve been married for almost 2 years, and in that time we've experienced the world... travelling to 9 different countries, and 3 different continents. (Iceland, Spain, France, Netherlands, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Australia, and New Zealand)

The first goal of this blog is to be a tech blog, where I share tutorials tailored to iOS development, as well as discuss topics that I find are relevant to my industry. The second goal will be to log my many adventures with Jess, as we continue to explore and experience all that life has to offer.
